Peluang Kebijakan Internet of Things (IoT) di Perpustakaan dan Pusat Informasi
Abstract
The entry of the Industrial Revolution Era 4.0 where the existence of the Internet of Things (IoT) is one of its main characteristics has made very significant changes in various sectors of life. IoT is seen as a smart solution that makes people and things; objects or devices that exist in the real world can be connected and communicate with each other in an integrated system using the internet network as a liaison. This has the aim that human users can retrieve information on all objects; object; or the device at any time and anywhere, to then be able to make a decision to take an appropriate action based on that information. In the field of libraries, IoT is a revolutionary form of innovation. The library which was originally only a building containing a row of printed books that only focused on providing library collections and services, is no longer present. By implementing IoT, the library is able to become an information institution that not only provides collections and services, but also provides added value to its users. Several potential forms of IoT implementation in libraries include (1) Information Literacy, (2) Access to Libraries and Their Collections, (3) Collection Management, (4) Recommendation Services, and (5) Equipment Management.
