Abstract This research is entitled poverty policy in Indonesia, social protection programs. The purpose of this study is to observe government policies in tackling poverty through social protection programs that have been implemented and what solutions should be taken in overcoming poverty in the State of Indonesia. As for the preparation of this study, the author used a literature review with qualitative methods. Where is a policy that has the goal of solving social problems that have been defined as politics in the public arena. Once implemented, a policy should be systematically evaluated. Evaluation is the final stage in the policy cycle where the focus on the impact generated by policy actors is based on the benefits of policy estimation as an effective target for changing their behavior. In short, policy evaluation involves the validity of empirical testing that is a causality model as the basis of the policy.
