Sebuah Bukti Empiris Tentang Dampak Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Atas Penurunan Kualitas Udara di Indonesia

Abstract


Pandemi COVID-19 juga menyebabkan penurunan drastis pada aktivitas ekonomi, namun tidak demikian pada produksi emisi gas rumah kaca. Pada saat Pandemi Covid-19, kualitas udara justru meningkat. Ketika aktivitas manusia kembali normal, aktivitas ekonomi kembali berjalan, penurunan kualitas udara kembali terjadi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat sejauh mana korelasi antara pertumbuhan ekonomi dengan kualitas udara di Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah metode kuantitatif. Data yang digunakan adalah data pertumbuhan ekonomi dan data kualitas udara dari seluruh provinsi di Indonesia pasca Pandemi Covid-19. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi negatif dan kuat diantara pertumbuhan ekonomi dan kualitas udara di seluruh provinsi di Indonesia. Pertumbuhan ekonomi seluruh provinsi di Indonesia mengalami peningkatan Pasca Pandemi Covid-19, namun kualitas udara cenderung mengalami penurunan. Sepuluh provinsi di Indonesia dengan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi tinggi pasca Pandemi Covid-19 adalah DKI Jakarta, Jawa Timur, Jawa Barat, Jawa Tengah, Sumatera Utara, Riau, Kalimantan Timur, Banten, Sulawesi Selatan, dan Sumatera Selatan. Provinsi tersebut merupakan provinsi dengan indeks kualitas udara terendah di Indonesia. Implikasi bagi pemerintah daerah provinsi adalah perlu memperhatikan aspek lingkungan, terutama kualitas udara yang harus dijaga tidak terpaku pada pertumbuhan ekonomi semata.
